At Backyard Bread our aim has always been to develop a gourmet product that would compliment our region’s fine wines, while supporting our local growers and producers. We feel our naturally flavoured bread bites showcase the diverse flavours of the ingredients gathered from throughout the region and are proud to be part of an exciting food and wine industry.

Experimenting with new flavour combinations is something we really enjoy and networking with Food Riverland members and producers through the Riverland Farmer’s Market is an important source of inspiration for us.

• We choose to bake in small batches using fresh, locally grown, high quality fruit and vegetables where possible.
• We choose to use unbleached baker’s flour, wholemeal and rye flour in our bread.
• We choose not to add any artificial preservatives, colours or flavours.

Our bread bites have a best before date of six months from time of baking, using long life and tamper-proof packaging. The range is baked and packaged fresh, when an order is received, ensuring the longest possible shelf life for our product. This premium natural product is at its best when stored away from direct light and heat.

We presently retail our bread bites in 80gm long life bags with an outer box. Catering quantities are available in one kilogram boxed minimums, but may be ordered as one variety, two varieties of 500gms or as a mixed variety box. There are approximately 500 pieces per kilogram. We are also able to supply larger pieces in various sizes on request.

Once again, we take great pride in supporting our local growers and producers using fresh, regional ingredients as much as possible in this entirely handmade range of products, paying meticulous attention to each small batch. Our gourmet spreads are available in 260gm jars and smaller 40gm jars as part of a sampler pack. They have a minimum best before date of twelve months and will remain at their best when stored away from direct light and heat.
